We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Westfill. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with our software engineers, contribute to product development, and support the launch and deployment of cutting-edge mechanical solutions.
Responsibilities:
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer at Westfill, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with software engineers to integrate calculations and instructions into software, ensuring proper functionality through rigorous
testing. - Assisting with product launches, rollouts, training sessions, and deployments
at various sites. - Participating in the development of future products, such as mine water
software products. - Completing design calculations, including weights, forces, vehicle stability,
factors of safety, hydraulic actuator selection, and more. - Preparing functional, material, and finishing specifications.
- Converting concept sketches into detailed drawings.
- Assisting with the design of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Obtaining quotes from vendors for fabrication and managing the fabrication process, including QA/QC checks and acceptance testing.
- Preparing parts lists and maintenance programs/requirements for completed products.
- Developing operational and maintenance procedures.
- Providing on-site presence during commissioning, testing, and client training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a relevant industry (mining, construction, heavy machinery, etc.).
- Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Be self-motivated and have a team orientated approach
- Current Valid Manual Driver’s License
