John Crawforth

Safety & Training Manager

John Crawforth began his mining career in 2003 as an underground fitter at Kambalda and later advanced to a fitter/leading hand at Argyle Diamond Mine. He achieved his Certificate IV in Training and Assessing in 2007, which led to his promotion as Maintenance Trainer, where he managed the underground maintenance team, focusing on trade skills and compliance.

John joined Westfill in 2022 as a Specialist Trainer, contributing significantly to the Bluestone Mine Tasmania paste plant commissioning project. His expertise in safety and training was further recognized with his promotion to Group Safety & Training Manager at the end of 2023. In this role, John plays a key part in enhancing Westfill’s safety culture and training programs, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
